Exploring the nexus of climate change, food security and the COVID-19 pandemic, June 2021

The Virtual Dialogue Event Exploring the nexus of climate change, food security and the COVID-19 pandemic was conducted in 8th June 2021.

The objectives are to:

  • Increase awareness and understanding of the potentials of climate-smart land use approaches for food security, climate change mitigation and adaptation and COVID-19 recovery in ASEAN.
  • Promote knowledge exchange about experience from ASEAN Member States (AMS) in implementing policies and practices for “building back better” in agriculture and land use.
  • Identify options how the insights generated can inform regional and national policy-processes.

The virtual event was hosted by Viet Nam through the Institute for Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD) and Thailand as Chair of ASEAN-CRN.The event was supported by the Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) in cooperation with the Climate-Smart Land Use (CSLU) in ASEAN project with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
