Transformation to Low Emissions and Resilient Agrifood System: A Knowledge Exchange Event and Climate Policy Negotiations Training

The ASEAN Climate Resilience Network (ASEAN-CRN) and partners organize the knowledge exchange and training in Bali on 27-29 September 2022 (hybrid).

The objective of the “Transformation to Low Emissions and Resilient Agrifood System: A Knowledge Exchange Event and Climate Policy Negotiations Training” is :

1) To enhance understanding of net zero and decarbonization concepts. This includes their relevance for resilient, low-emission agriculture and their possible roles in achieving the national and regional climate action priorities
2) To provide basic knowledge on climate policy negotiations. This is in the scope of the UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement to support and encourage the onboarding and participation of new ANGA delegations
3) To update the results from SB56 in Bonn, Germany, and prepare for the COP27 meeting in November 2022

The Indonesia National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is the host, together with Thailand Department of Agriculture (DOA) as Chair of the ASEAN-CRN. The event organizing received support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the GIZ “Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains in ASEAN” (ASEAN AgriTrade). The other supporting organizations are the FAO-Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO-ROAP), Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI), and Mekong Institute (MI) on behalf of the ASEAN AgriTrade project.
