Dr. Israr Albar of the Directorate of Climate Change Adaptation joins the workshop on “Climate Action for Agriculture in Asia” from October 10-12, 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand through the support of Climate Governance project, in cooperation with the Forestry and Climate Change (FOR-CC) project and the ASEAN Climate Resilience Network (ASEAN-CRN), which were co-organizers of the event, along with partners.

The workshop, attended by ASEAN member states, aims to strengthen the role of scientific foresight and climate smart-agriculture in addressing priorities in achieving Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The ASEAN-CRN is established to ensure that ASEAN member states are in a better position to adapt their agricultural sector to climate change and optimize its mitigation potential. The network promotes climate resiliency through exchange of information, expertise, and experiences on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) among ASEAN member states. By providing a dialogue platform on CSA in the region, the ASEAN-CRN links policy makers to scientific institutions, universities, national research institutions in agriculture, and international organizations.
